Mr. Abdul Waheed is one of the Pioneering Alumni of IIUI from the Faculty of International Institute of Islamic Economics IIIE, who graduated with MSc holding a distinction in the first batch of Islamic Banking & Finance back in 2004.
He started his career with Askari Bank – Islamic Banking and had served there for over 07 years, in Credit Risk Management, Corporate & Structured Finance and Relationship Management on Assets and Trade side. Mr. Abdul Waheed switched his job in 2015 over to BankIslami Pakistan Limited as CRM – Corporate Banking and later on promoted as Branch Manager – Corporate Finance. In 2018 he become the part of another big and pioneer name of global Islamic Banking industry i.e. Dubai Islamic Bank, as Branch Head – SME & Commercial Banking and later on promoted to his current position as Area Manager – SME & Commercial Banking.

“We had got the opportunity to learn from the best faculty of time in the fields of Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Islamic Economics and Islamic Banking & Finance i.e. Dr. Asad Zaman, Dr. Khaleeq- uz-Zaman, Dr. Ateeq -uz-Zafar Khan, Dr. Arshad Bhatti, Dr. Tahir Mansuri, Dr. Muhammad Tufail, Dr. Muhammad Ayub and Dr. Syyed Tahir. The Institute also provided us with the opportunity to interact with renowned professional Bankers; amongst them there were very renowned names of the industry Besides the above, the University also ensured to equip us with the practical training ( internship) with the renowned Islamic Financial Institutions, which later on help us a lot for job offers, immediately after the graduation.
I am really thankful to IIUI for all the learning opportunities and all the best possible facilities and wish all the best to the old / young graduates as well as the current students out there at the University, especially at School of IBF and assure all the support from my side”.
