First Official IIIE Alumni Home Coming
International Institute
of Islamic Economics (IIIE), IIUI in collaboration with Alumni Office, IIUI
organized first Official Alumni Meet up at Allama Iqbal Auditorium, Faisal
Masjid Campus. Prof. Dr. Ahmed Yousif Al Draiweesh, President, International
Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) was the chief guest of the ceremony while,
a large number of IIIE Alumni’s from across the country and from abroad
participated in the ceremony.
IIUI President hailed the
alumni office and said that the effort has brought the IIUI ambassadors
(alumni) back to home to be proud of their institution. He said that IIUI is
proud of alumni and they have proved that the university has given best people to
Muslim world. He reiterated his resolve that IIUI would remain in touch with
alumni as this can further strengthen the pursuit of objectives of the
university. Dr. Draiweesh explained how the Alumni can benefit the institute in
terms of ranking and how much this helps the current students as well.
Distinguished Alumni from
Pakistan and Foreign countries attended the Get-together, who worked in
different sectors and fields of their professional lives, including head of
departments, corporate managers, consultants, bankers, teachers etc. Around 150
Alumni & Guests from different cities all over the country and foreign
countries attended the event.
The In Charge of IIUI
Alumni Dr. Hafiz Muhammad Anwar welcomed the distinguished Alumni and the chief
guests; he gave a speech about the progress of the IIUI Alumni office and its
future plans and developments. He explained that the Office of Alumni was
established by the President of the University, Prof. Dr. Ahmed bin Yousif
Al-Draiweesh, since 2013, to meet its objectives, in terms of the Alumni. He
mentioned that Alumni office keeps networking with Alumni through website,
social media platforms including Facebook, LinkedIn, Whatsaap, social
networking websites and Alumni Magazine.

Dr. Atiq Uz Zafar also referred to some of the future plans on this occasion,
such as reunion for graduates by establishing a forum of Alumni’s, as well as a
Grand Homecoming for all each year while, IIIE Alumni’s offered volunteer
services to strengthen the forum. He also mentioned planning for job fairs,
provision of scholarships for needy students, entrepreneurial week, hall of
fames and much more.
The get together
comprised Speeches given by the Worthy President IIUI, on how the Alumni is
essential to the institute and how both can benefit from each other and also
benefit the current students of IIUI, Vice-President HS&R, Professor Dr.
Aqdas Naveed Malik also praised the efforts of the Alumni Office and shared his
views that how much the Alumni means to the institute and he looks forward for
more of these events in the future.
First Batch, IIIE Alumni
Dr. Rafiq Tahir, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Education and existing member of
the board of governors, Selection Board of IIUI also shared his experiences and
thoughts about the Alumni program during general discussions and appreciated
the efforts of the Alumni office for this most waited event for the IIIE, IIUI
Alumni.
During the event token of
appreciations were provided to the prestigious Alumni of IIUI, they were presented
with shields and memorabilia from the President, Vice-President and the In
Charge of the Alumni Office.
The rest of the Alumni
and guests were given memorabilia during the event.
After the event the IIIE, Alumni of IIUI had a gathering at
lunch, where all shared their experiences and their life at IIUI an enlightened
atmosphere was created among the foreign and national Alumni.
