Dato Abu Ubaidah Kemin started his journey in IIUI back in the year 1988 with a
Bachelor’s Degree in Dawa, Comparative Religion from the Faculty of Usuluddin
(Islamic Studies), class of 1988-1992.
He is currently working as a Founder and President at Waqafa International in Kuala Lumpur
Malaysia.
Syeikh Abu Ubaidah Kemin of Johor, Malaysia is a progressive
Islamic scholar, educator, philanthropist, businessman, and who spreads the
true message of Islam all over the world in accordance with present realities
of the modern world where capitalism oppresses poor people Muslims and
non-Muslims alike. He strongly encourages Muslims all over the world to
engage in business in an Islamic way and by establishing the little-known but
powerful BANKWAQF in various Muslim communities.
Recently he has been awarded for his outstanding work in Islamic Finance and Banking System. He recently was a speaker at a conference in Tashkent Uzbekistan by Al-Hude Institute of Islamic Banking & Economic. Where he talked about Waqf Economic & Waqf Banking. Participants & speakers came from Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, South Africa, Switzerland, Malaysia, Pakistan, UAE and Bangladesh. The Ambassador of Bangladesh in Uzbekistan welcomed our Alumnus with great regards to his office and appreciated the work Dato Abu Ubaidah Kermin is doing for the Muslim Ummah. InshaAllah very soon Islamic Banking will starts in Uzbekistan as a solution for halal banking and financing.
